When St Paddy’s Day falls on Sunday, the good bishop has to take a back seat to his Lord, since the weekly celebration of the resurrection has priority over saints’ days. Thus the Church celebrates St Patrick the day after.

Jesus calls us to do two things: Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. The whole of God's law, the whole of our lives, and the whole mission of God's people are centered on these two commandments. In the Church these play out in Worship and Witness. We express our love for God primarily by putting our very best into the worship we offer him, where we celebrate his immeasurable love for us; then, fed from his Altar and filled with his grace, we share his love with everybody, whether they're part of the Church or not. That's what we strive to do at St Michael's. And we'd love for you to come and see! View all posts by St. Michael's Episcopal Church (O'Fallon, Illinois)
